ayurvedaOverview
This form of medicine is an Indian approach to health and wellness and has been used and depended on by many Indian doctors and practitioners. It is over three thousand years old and is the most used in India. Essentially, it divides the universe into three basic constitutions or "energies" known as doshas. The three doshas are based on wind, fire, and earth. These doshas are responsible for how our bodies act, our personalities and the activities we engage in. When these three doshas are balanced everything functions well but when they are not balanced a disease can occur to the person. The balance is relied upon how the person changes their diet and how to suit the predominant dosha. This is also reliant upon certain relaxation exercises such as yoga, meditation and avoiding or incorporating bad lifestyle habits.

Side effects
Since many types of Ayurvedic Medicine have not undergone vigorously tested through clinical trials to prove its effectiveness as a treatment, Western doctors rarely recommend Ayurvedic Medicine to treat any specific type of disease.

As a common sense, overuse of laxatives used in Ayurvedic Medicine can lead to serious chemical imbalances within the body and possible allergic reactions may resulted. Laxatives, in particular, should never be taken in the presence of abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting without consulting with doctor first.
