|
Design the network for the
infrastructure of (backbone point-of-presence (POP) and
monitor capacity on these locations establishing upgrade
plans and practices. Participate in design, support and
the implementation of a broadband network to connect a nationwide
deployment of RBOC co-located company POP's. Perform traffic-engineering
studies to determine the appropriate capacity requirements
in the various portions of the ATM backbone network. Perform
research, analysis and interviews necessary to select appropriate
technologies and vendors. Evaluate network security policies
and procedures for the systems and services operating on
the backbone network. Advise and be responsible for implementation
of network hardware and support application upgrades. Provide
Tier 3 support for the organization. |

Experience in the design
of data network systems and strong knowledge and in depth
experience with ATM, Frame-relay, TCP/IP and IP routing
protocols and DS-1, DS-3, OC-3 data transport systems is
required. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication
skills. 3+years experience and Bachelors degree in a technical
field, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer
Science, or equivalent related technical experience. |
